60TH REUNION PRAYER by RON EVANS This lovely prayer was read at the 60th Reunion. We thought you would like it posted here.
O God of a hundred names,
Who loves us all as if each were thine only care;
With joy, delight and no small measure of surprise that there is such an occasion to share tonight, and moreover, that we are here to be a part of it,
We ask thy blessing upon this time and all here present as well as those wishing us well from afar;
And especially those whose place in our class and in our hearts, is as assured as they shall ever remain eternally in thy care,
And we ask thy blessing upon that monumental schoolB that braced and shaped us for all the chance, change, and challenge that followed those dreamy "Camelot days," when hair was short and plentiful, and skirts were long and colorful,
When we thought being clever and cute more important than being thoughtful and wise;
now a mere sixty and more years ago.
As we recall happy Hi-Times and lifelong friendships,
Superior teaching and care-filled coaching,
Supportive counseling and worthy administration, We give thanks for that profound launch-pad of
Classrooms and an "L" Room,
Laboratories and libraries,
Gymnasia and playfields,
Where we were molded and stretched to face a world
more challenging than our fears, yet
more wonderful than our timid dreams.
